Shoulder Seasons: Lets talk about it

If you ask me, the best-kept secret in travel is visiting during the shoulder seasons—April, May, September, and October. These months offer the perfect balance between peak-season energy and off-season tranquility. Flights, hotels, and activities are often more affordable, and you'll spend far less time waiting in lines or navigating large crowds. You can still experience the most popular attractions, restaurants, and beaches, but without the overwhelming rush that comes with summer travel.

One of the things I love most about shoulder-season travel is the atmosphere. In the spring, destinations are coming back to life after the winter months. Beach clubs, cafés, shops, and local businesses are reopening, and there's a sense of excitement and anticipation in the air as the season begins. Locals are often eager to welcome visitors, creating a warm and authentic experience that can be harder to find during the busiest months of the year.

September and October are my personal favorite months to travel. The weather is still beautiful, the ocean is warm from the summer sun, and many destinations maintain their lively energy while seeing far fewer visitors. With families back in school and many travelers returning to work, beaches become more peaceful, reservations are easier to secure, and daily life feels more authentic. It's the perfect opportunity to enjoy a destination at a slower pace and experience it more like a local than a tourist.
